Midpoint 18, one of the North West’s largest business and distribution parks, has today been relaunched as ‘MA6NITUDE’, as part of a new strategic partnership between Pochin’s and international property developer db symmetry.
Currently undergoing a progressive three-phase development, MA6NITUDE’s prime location – minutes from the M6 in Middlewich – connects businesses operating in the North West with over 450-acres of high quality mixed-use space. Speaking at a launch event in Manchester, the new partnership outlined its plans for the joint venture, including the planning application for a new 160,000 sq ft speculative build set for completion in Autumn 2017.
Commenting on the deal, Pochin’s CEO Jim Nicholson said: “MA6NITUDE has long been held as our flagship development site, and the quality of its existing tenants highlights the role it plays in the Northern Powerhouse and UK logistics network. The additional knowledge and resources of db symmetry will only grow the site’s popularity at a crucial time when the North West is accelerating infrastructure development and the region’s standing as a key player in the national and international picture.”
Having delivered over 1.5 million sq ft of mixed-use employment space, and more than 2,000 new jobs to date, Pochin’s sought out db symmetry’s extensive experience of developing key industrial parks across the UK and Europe to further the national standing of MA6NITUDE. The new joint venture will link Pochin’s and db symmetry with a view to adding to the already significant client portfolio at MA6NITUDE, which includes Wincanton, B&M Bargains, Optima Power, Tesco, Scottish Power, and Kuehne and Nagel.
Jim Nicholson continued: “With its exceptional links to national transport infrastructure, MA6NITUDE has and will continue to play an integral part in Cheshire’s exciting future. Cheshire already boasts the strongest economy in the Northern Powerhouse and it’s ambitious development partnerships such as this that will further attract top class businesses to the region.”
Andrew Dickman, Director at db symmetry, added: “Cheshire and the wider North West are an integral part of our development strategy and MA6NITUDE fits perfectly within our portfolio of sites with national appeal. Our previous collaborations with Pochin’s have always proved extremely successful, so we’re pleased to be able to further our relationship with a strategic partnership that will enable us grow this already significant site together.”
