Pochin’s has enjoyed an exceptional week of awards success, picking up two titles and being shortlisted for a third in the space of just a few days.
The Middlewich-based firm has been announced as one of four contenders for the ‘Contractor of the Year’ title at this year’s North West Regional Construction Awards. In their 11th year, the awards recognise best practice and innovative working across the North West’s built environment sector, with the winners set to be announced in Manchester in June.
It was first place for Pochin’s at the North West Business Masters Awards held at Manchester’s Midland Hotel. The business was named ‘SME of the Year’ at The Business Desk’s annual night, competing with renowned contenders including Beech Holdings and Smart Storage.
Adding to the success, Moneypenny’s new headquarters in Wrexham was crowned the North’s ‘Corporate Workplace of the Year’ for 2017 by the British Council of Offices.
The project, which was built by Pochin’s in partnership with AEW Architects, is also to contest the commercial category of this year’s Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Wales Awards.
Commenting on the achievements, Jim Nicholson, CEO of Pochin’s, said: “As a family-oriented business, Pochin’s has remained committed to development in the North West of England and North Wales for more than 80 years, so it is a great honour for all involved that we continue to be recognised for our contributions to the region.
“It’s testament to the hard work of our staff, the senior leadership team and the quality of training we invest in that the projects we continue to be involved are held in such high regard by the property and wider business community. We’ve had an encouraging start to 2017, working on some fantastic buildings, and we hope to continue this success with a healthy pipeline of new work in the coming months.”
