Pochin’s adds to Birmingham’s student offering

Pochin’s has been awarded a £24.4million contract to deliver a new student accommodation scheme in Birmingham for Threesixty Developments. The 160,000 sq ft project on Legge Street will cater for over 534 students within a stones throw of Aston University’s central campus.

The project, which is expected to open to Birmingham’s student population for the start of the 2017/18 academic year, will comprise of 534 contemporary apartments across ten storeys, adding significantly to the range of spacious, quality student living in the city.

The contract is Pochin’s second with Threesixty Developments (formerly Knightsbridge Student Housing Ltd), following the partnership’s September completion of Ablett House, a luxury 396-bed development for the Student Housing Company in Liverpool.

Commenting on the announcement, Pochin’s Ltd CEO, Jim Nicholson, said: “We’re extremely pleased to contribute to this major new development for Birmingham. The city has a thriving student community and the demand for high-quality student accommodation has never been stronger. While it is relatively new, we have a fantastic, growing relationship with Threesixty Developments and we’re looking forward to the successful delivery of this exciting project.”

Neil Howells, Senior Development Manager at Threesixty Developments, commented: “We were extremely impressed by the speed and quality of Pochin’s delivery for our last project and, with that in mind, we felt well placed to specify them for what will be another significant addition to our UK portfolio.”
