Pochin’s Ltd CEO Jim Nicholson has been named ‘Family Business Director of the Year’ at this years Institute of Directors North West Awards held in Manchester.
The award follows a positive 2015 for the Middlewich-based group having announced a project pipeline totalling £50million in recent months.
Having been returned to private ownership by a consortium led by Nicholson in 2014, Pochin’s celebrated its 80th anniversary with turnover exceeding £78m and is well set to enjoy further success in 2016 due to a number of key projects.
Upon receiving the award, Jim said: “I would like to thank the Institute of Directors for this recognition. This is another feather in the cap for our organisation and, working alongside my brother Bob and the rest of the Pochin’s team, we’ve been involved in some exciting projects over the last twelve months.
“As a family business with strong local community roots, it’s a great honour to be recognised for our contribution to the North West. Since my grandfather founded the business in the 1930s, Pochin’s has been an ever-present in the region and we’re looking forward to another 80 years of success.”
