Pochin’s gathered the North West property and construction industry last week as it held its annual charity golf day at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Knutsford.
A day on the golf course was followed by an evening of fine dining and entertainment, including a silent and live auction, golf day presentation and live band.
Now in its 20th year, this year’s event raised a record £35,000 in aid of the Steve Burne Charitable Trust. Pochin’s has raised more than £300,000 over the last 20 years for local charities.
The former managing director of AEW Architects was present on the evening to deliver a moving speech about his personal battle with terminal cancer and his role in raising money for the Ronald McDonald House in Manchester.
Ronald McDonald House provides free accommodation for families with children in hospital, and has a 60-bedroom facility to support those undergoing treatment at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Jim Nicholson, CEO of Pochin’s Ltd, said: “Each year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff, clients and friends. This year’s event was of particular importance to myself and the wider team at Pochin’s. Steve is a close friend and someone we have had the pleasure of working with on many occasions – we are all in admiration of his strength and the inspirational work he is he doing to raise money for Ronald McDonald House.
“A huge thank you to everyone that played their part in making this year’s event such a success. We look forward to seeing you next year!”
